Position Vacancy - Line Chef
The Line Chef's primary task is the preparation of all food items for the daily lunch and evening service as well as catering events. Chefs take direction from the Head Chef and Sous Chef and are responsible for cooking all items to their specifications. Chefs may also be called upon to perform any other tasks necessary for the smooth operation of the kitchen, including, but not limited to menu planning, product ordering, and cafeteria set-up and cleaning. Along with the dishwashers and other kitchen staff they are responsible for maintaining the kitchen, cafeteria and all equipment in a clean and organized manner. Chefs will also be responsible for performing front of the house duties (serving customers) and will be expected to provide excellent service to those using the cafeteria.
Candidates must have completed a culinary program at a recognized culinary school and have 1 year of professional kitchen experience, either in restaurant or volume cooking. A demonstrated interest in school food, working with children and healthy cooking are highly preferred.
