Maria Richa - Clay Creations. Maria is the middle school art teacher.
Walter Hunte - Robotics. He has spent over 10 years as an HVAC mechanical system design engineer and has several years creating automated robotic fabrication and assembly systems. Walter has been working with students at the Dalton After School program, H.E.A.F. (Harlem Education Activity Fund) and Bank Street instructing students in creating imaginative robotic creations using Pico Cricket and Lego Mindstorm.
Howard Parker - Chess 1, 2 & 3/4. Howard taught his son to play chess and he became the first U.S. Primary School National Champion. He then partnered with John W. Collins, the teacher of Bobby Fischer to organize championship teams of youngsters and play throughout the U.S., Iceland and Israel. He began working with Bank Street over twelve years ago and has developed a program that fosters a supportive environment. Children have fun while learning how to think using chess.
Kate Tempesta's Urban Golf Academy www.ktuga.com. Kate embraces the LPGA’s holistic view of the golfer as well as Howard Gardner’s Theory of Multiple Intelligences. She takes into account individual learning styles, group dynamics and ability levels and knows how to make the most of every learning experience. Kate is a leading expert in the golf industry.
Sierra DeCrosta - World Dance. Ms. Decrosta has been a teaching member of the Vanaver Caravan since 2006. She is a part of the Caravan's ongoing New York State Residency in the Arts program, teaching world dance to students ages 5 to 13. Ms. DeCrosta has a diverse dance and musical background, and deeply loves sharing this background with children in New York and around the world.
Madeline Cottingham - Yoga. Maddie has practiced yoga since age 11. She has taught many classes to young children from stretching, dance and yoga. She just earned her BA in Environmental Studies from New York University. In every class she teaches, she brings her love and knowledge of nature, creativity and imagination to her students
Tekintellect - Robotics 2 - www.tekintellect.com. Students will be using new and exciting models such as race cars, boat, tank, helicopter, human robot, animals and more. New scientific concepts acquired. Students will learn to design and construct original mechanized models from Lego® components while learning the scientific principles behind the models.
Super Soccer Stars - www.supersoccerstars.com. All of our classes are non-competitive, using positive reinforcement to teach children soccer skills in a fun, engaging, educational environment. We create a specific curriculum tailored to each school’s needs. Our unique age-specific curriculum is designed by a combination of early childhood, behavioral, and soccer specialists to ensure that each child is learning, improving their self-confidence, and having a blast from the moment the whistle blows.
Jodie Levinson - Voice Lessons. Jodie holds a BA from Skidmore College and has studied voice with coaches in and around Manhattan for many years. She currently works with the rock band and the 13s play.
Betsy Blachly - Beginning Guitar. Betsy is the lower school music teacher.
Tal Freiberg - Piano. Tal was trained as a pianist and also as a classical Bass-Baritone singer at Telma Yelin School for the Arts in Tel-Aviv, where he graduated distinctively as a piano major. He also graduated from the Jerusalem Rubin’s Academy and Mannes College of Music. Until lately,Tal has professionally performed at known venues here and abroad.
Eiichi Shimada - Piano. A classical pianist, Eiichi Shimada, has performed as a recitalist, chamber musician and soloist with Orchestras, throughout the United States, Europe and Japan. He received his musical training in Tokyo, and later continued his studied in Vienna and New York. Shimada has taught at Long Island Conservatory, the Mendigorria International Music Festival in Spain.

Since 2002 she has taught painting, animation and video courses to young people from elementary school to university students. She has worked as an animator for Cartoon Network, Comedy Central and Google. She holds a Master of Fine Art degree from The School of Visual Arts in New York City

Nelly Agron - Hand Sewing, Fashion Design & Jewelry Making. Nelly is a designer and dressmaker. She has created costumes on Broadway and at the Juilliard School. She studied fashion at F.I.T. and Maison Sapho French School of Dressmaking and Designs, Inc.
John Regis - Shakespeare. John taught Shakespeare in after school for 21 years and is returning to do this again. John is the Bank Street School's Theatre teacher and he also directs the 13s play.
Laura Sametz - Shakespeare. Laura is a parent and a professional actress.

Diana Jensen - Exploring Clay. Diana is the lower school art teacher. We are excited to have her teaching for us.
Henry Chapin - Guitar 2. Henry has a BA in Music Composition and Theory and an MA in Arts Administration. At age 10 Henry narrated Benjamin Britten's "Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra" with Lenard Bernstein and the NY Philharmonic on a Young People's concert. Henry began teaching music and guitar in 1979.
Eli Friedmann - Electric Guitar Group, Private Guitar. Eli has been playing guitar for over 20 years and teaching professionally for 15 years.! He is a coleader of the band Small Mutiples

Sarah Britt - Zumba. Sarah graduated from the Rotterdam Dance Academy with a degree in Dance Education and has taught musical theater, contemporary, jazz and tap in The Netherlands and Egypt.
Andrea Guttman - Our Place, head teacher. Andrea brings 35 years of involvement in alternative art education programs to Our Place. She has taught, designed, & administered art programs in museums, community centers and schools. Andrea's experience with diverse populations gives her a unique perspective for supporting a variety of learners.
Saima Fayyaz - Kids Club, head teacher. Saima has been actively involved with Kids Club for the past 12 years. She mentored as an assistant to the previous Kids Club teacher and rose to head teacher after her retirement. Saima brings her passion for crafts and shares her love of cooking with the children of Kids Club.
