Ellie Costa, Bank Street Literacy Specialist, Presented at a Sounds in Motion Conference

On October 27, 2012, Ellie Costa, Bank Street School for Children Reading and Literacy Specialist, presented at a workshop at The Children’s Hearing Institute Educational Outreach Program's Conference titled Sounds In Motion and its Applications. Ms. Costa shared the curriculum being developed in the School for Children's 5/6s (Kindergarten) using Sounds in Motion.

Sounds in Motion is a unique phonemic awareness and early literacy tool that utilizes body movements to develop the perception and production of speech sounds. It has been proven to help Kindergarten and 1st Grade children achieve literacy benchmarks in both general education and special education classrooms.
