In Memoriam: Suzanne Berliss 1918-2012

Notable Bank Street alumna Suzanne Frankel Berliss ’71 passed away peacefully on October 31, 2012, at the age of 94.

Sue attended Goucher College in Baltimore and married her husband, Arthur, in 1940. She came to Bank Street for her master’s degree after having her daughter, Elizabeth, and son, Henry. During her time at Bank Street and afterwards, Sue was active as a volunteer fundraiser for Bank Street, serving on the Theatre Benefit Committee for over six years, chairing the Alumni Special Gifts Committee of the 50th Anniversary Fund Committee, and supporting Bank Street’s Graduate School with her husband.

Sue went on to a career in early childhood education and a lifetime of working effectively in numerous schools with children and adults of all economic and social backgrounds.
