School for Children 4th Graders Learn About Climate ChangePosted by Katie Peshut on November 16, 2012
Bank Street School for Children 9/10s (4th grade) students were visited by scientists from The Earth Institute at Columbia University on November 15, 2012.
The presentation covered climate change and specific actions that children and adults can take to mitigate its impact on our society.
The students gasped when they learned that New Yorkers produce more greenhouse gases than all of Mexico and Central America combined!
They also learned how our own food, water, energy, and resource choices can affect global climate change now and in the future.
