Middle School Students Decorate Holiday Bags for God's Love We DeliverPosted by Katie Peshut on November 28, 2012
Every year Bank Street School for Children classrooms at all age levels in the Middle School (grades 1-4) personalize holiday bags that will be used to deliver food and other necessities to homebound clients of God’s Love We Deliver living with HIV/AIDS, cancer, and other serious illnesses.
Students paint the bags in ways that respect the diverse cultural and social experiences of these clients. In doing so, Bank Street students are able to participate in a creative and imaginative form of volunteering that touches so many people— clients, volunteers, and staff alike.
God’s Love We Deliver is a not-for-profit, non-sectarian organization that embraces all traditions and beliefs.
Bank Street has been involved in personalizing and donating God’s Love We Deliver holiday bags for more than 10 years.
