Fostering Global Competency among our Students
Led by representatives of the Global Education Coalition-NYC, a network of New York City-based global education organizations and educators, this workshop will provide both formal and non-formal educators and school administrators with an in-depth understanding of global competency. Educators will learn how to integrate global themes into the curriculum as required by the Common Core Standards and how to practically apply the concept of global competency in the classroom. Topics include conceptual frameworks on global and intercultural competencies, how to utilize cultural exchanges and technology to engage students with the world, and ways to incorporate global education into classroom and afterschool curriculum through tools, activities, and partnerships.
