Since 2009, Akilah Rosado-McQueen has served as Chief of Staff to the President and Assistant Secretary to the Board of Trustees. In this role, she has provided ongoing support to College and Board leadership. Akilah also serves as a liaison to several groups in the College including Staff Council and the President’s Advisory Committee. More recently, she has lent her support and expertise to the College’s Government Relations endeavors and Middle States accreditation process.
Prior to joining Bank Street, Akilah was employed at the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) in the Government & Community Relations division where she helped to build consensus and support for development projects in Brooklyn. Additionally, Akilah has served in various capacities for a number of elected officials in the New York State Assembly.
Akilah has also served as a strategist on various political campaigns; a management consultant and leadership coach for the Public Strategies Group; and as an adjunct professor for Hudson Valley Community College teaching leadership development and organizational behavior with an emphasis on social/emotional intelligence.
Akilah holds a Masters of Science in Urban Policy and Management from the Milano School of International Affairs, Management, and Urban Policy at the New School. She received her undergraduate degree in Political Science from SUNY at Purchase College.
