Bilingual French/English Tutor with Special Education Training. Seeking a bilingual French/English tutor for a 6 year old in need of reading, writing and math support to prepare for the first grade. The candidate should be able to instruct in both French and English and have experience with multi-sensory learning techniques such as Orton-Gillingham or similar. The student is currently learning to read in French at a dual language program, and all reading instruction should continue in that language. Tutor needed for 15 year old high school student struggling with ADHJD in Washington Heights for August 2013-onward with possible hours in May and June 2013. Applicant must be proficient in high school science, social studies, English, and math. Most importantly, applicant must be talented in teaching writing skills, reading comprehension skills, study skills and must be highly organized. Volunteer Tutors. Star Learning Center. (A program of Goddard Riverside Community Center). Seeking volunteer tutors for our 2013 summer program. This program provides one-to-one tutoring to low-income children from across the city. We are looking for volunteers who are interested in working with students from Grades 2-12. Each tutor must be able to commit a 2 hour block of time each week to be matched with a child. Tutoring takes place on Mondays-Thursday., primarily in the afternoon and early evening hours.
