As the Manager of Digital Media and Learning at Bank Street College of Education, I provide the overall leadership, vision, and direction for the pedagogically sound use of digital media at the institution. I have used my background in teaching and technology to manage projects that shift the way institutions use technology: curriculum development, online education start-up, learning systems integration, classroom redesigns, staff development programs, campus mobile strategy, instructional design projects, and more. With Master’s degrees in both education and digital media, I am very comfortable acting as the bridge between faculty, leadership, finance and IT for technology development projects.
In addition to managing a team of IT professionals to support College technology initiatives, I work directly with faculty to create online courses with deep community engagement and student-driven learning experiences. My speciality is the incorporation of informal, sharing tools into formal education.
I am currently piloting a Google Course to help educators design online courses with deep community engagement and learner-centered, constructivist experiences. [It's an online course about online course development.] The course is open to all and begins October 22 (bankstreetdml.appspot.com).
