Summer Programs
Our Summer Program offerings are designed to expand students’ horizons during the summer months. Through various longstanding partnerships and collaborations, we offer students the opportunity to explore their interests.
for students enrolled in the Liberty LEADS Program
5th and 6th grades: Science in the City
Our science / math summer camp helps our youngest scholars build and develop their math and science skills while working on hands-on educational activities. Using the classroom as a starting point, students engage in New York City-based field trips that help to expand their knowledge of the city as a science classroom.
7th and 8th grades: Adventure in the City
This summer camp builds group cohesiveness and strengthens our students’ ability to set goals. Students engage in challenges including a ropes course, cooperative learning activities and group problem-solving expeditions. Students have fun working together as a group, learning and growing together, using New York City as their playground.
9th, 10th, and 11th grades: Summer Exploration
Students participate in one of the following:
- a summer college or academic program,
- a leadership program
- a travel / study abroad program
- a community service program
- a summer internship.
Most programs have a strong academic foundation, offer opportunities to explore career and personal interests, and provide experiences that allow students to take risks and accept challenges.
