Includes an annotated bibliography for three-to-six-year-old children.

Although unfamiliar with lesbian-headed families, the neighboring children are willing to learn about Molly's family and make room for her in their circle of friends. Thesis discusses the developmental capacities and needs of children in their middle years, with a focus on securing peer acceptance. Surveys others children's books with similar themes.
