General Information

Holiday Gift Policy

Dear Parents:

The holidays are upon us! We would therefore like to remind everyone of Bank Street's policy regarding holiday gift-giving to teachers and staff. Families are asked to give only handmade gifts and cards to teachers at the holidays. It is the custom of the school that parents not give teachers individual gifts. Teachers appreciate most children's handmade gifts and letters, as well as letters from parents. This policy has been developed over the years through extensive discussions between the Parents Association, Coordinators, faculty and staff. Faculty and staff unanimously agree that they are most touched by handmade gifts during the holidays. Many recipients treasure these gifts long after they are passed from the hands of the student to the teacher.

At the end of the school year (May/June), families will have an opportunity to thank teachers by contributing to a class gift for the teachers and specialists. More specifics about these gifts will be sent out in the spring.

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions. Bonnie Scarborough & Sharon Murphy2012-13 Co-Presidents, Bank Street Parents Association
