Honoring Anthony K. Asnes

Bank Street salutes Tony Asnes for his two terms of inspired leadership as Board Chair and 20 years of service as trustee. As he steps down from this role, he will continue to actively serve on the Board, as he has since 1993.

Tony Asnes is the Head of Investor Relations at Pershing Square Capital Management, L.P. Pershing Square is a concentrated research-intensive fundamental value investor in long and occasionally short investments in the public markets.

Prior to joining Pershing Square, from 2003 through early 2010, Tony was Head of Marketing and Client Service at Eagle Capital Management, LLC, a long-only, value-oriented equity manager. He has seven years of experience in corporate strategy management consulting and was President and Chief Operating Officer of Pseudo Programs, Inc., an Internet television network. In the late 1980’s he traded index options on the American Stock Exchange.

Tony graduated from Yale with a degree in Computer Science and earned an M.S. in Management from the Sloan School at MIT. He is the Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Bank Street College of Education and is a Trustee of the New York Hall of Science. He is also a founding Trustee of the Harlem Academy, an independent 1st through 8th grade school in upper Manhattan.

About the Dinner

Every year, the Board of Trustees invites colleagues and new friends of the College to come together in celebration of Bank Street's contributions to the world of education.

The dinner directly supports Bank Street's mission to improve the education of all children and their teachers. With education reform at the forefront of regional and national policy debates, Bank Street's steadfast advocacy of progressive approaches to teacher preparation has never been more important.

Funds raised from the Trustees' Dinner provide unrestricted support to the College to be used where most needed.
