Join Us for the Annual Spring Benefit!
The Liberty LEADS Spring Benefit is on Monday, June 3, 2013 at Havana Central.
We will recognize Kenneth D. Merin and Carol Van Atten from The Charles Hayden Foundation as the 2013 Liberty LEADers. This honor is bestowed upon two community members who have contributed significant time and resources to help enhance the lives of underserved youth. We will also honor two Liberty LEADS students, one alum, Jerrel Burney and one high school student, Mara Rodriguez who have each proven themselves as leaders and academics.
Bank Street Liberty LEADS
Bank Street’s Liberty LEADS provides 260 children and families a comprehensive after school program that meets their social and emotional needs. The program operates from Bank Street South.
Services are offered to families and middle school and high school students, grades 5-12, for 11 months each year. Eligibility is based on space availability.
Bank Street’s Liberty LEADS vision is to ensure that all underserved and underrepresented youth have equal access to the resources necessary to realize their potential and make positive contributions to society.
Our Mission: To empower underrepresented youth to become lifelong learners and worldwide community role models by helping them attain higher education, embrace global leadership engagement and create a positive future for themselves and others.
Parental Involvement: A Liberty LEADS parent is involved in the educational, emotional and social life of their children. Liberty LEADS’ parents volunteer, participate in workshops and partake in programmatic social events.
