Romelle Moore has worked as a social worker for 20 years. As a daughter of an African immigrant mother and an African American father, she has always sought ways to bridge these two cultures and in doing so has found similarities along the way. As a licensed social worker, Ms. Moore has worked in the elementary school system as well as the college setting, promoting ideas on combating bullying, depression in children, and trauma using a holistic approach as well as incorporating cultural and communal nuances for more authentic experiences when it comes to healing. At the Center for Emotionally Responsive Practices at Bank Street College, Ms. Moore brings her own unique experiences to the work encouraging empathy and other important ERP principles.
