On Tuesday, December 3, Bank Street celebrated Giving Tuesday, a global day of generosity that unites individuals, communities, and organizations around the world. Over the past decade, Giving Tuesday has become a powerful movement that inspires millions to support the organizations and causes they care about and envision a brighter future together.
This Giving Tuesday, Bank Street’s Development and Alumni Relations Office (DARO) raised $51,748 through the contributions of 157 donors—surpassing its $50,000 goal. The campaign saw participation from a wide range of community members, including faculty, staff, students, families, alumni, friends, and others who share a commitment to Bank Street’s important mission.
“It’s always inspiring to see the Bank Street community come together to support our shared vision,” said Jeremy Wells, Director of Annual Funds, DARO. “Through collective action and a steadfast commitment to education, we can create a more just and equitable world. I’m deeply grateful to everyone who contributed.”
Donations made during Giving Tuesday will provide vital support to the Bank Street School for Children, Graduate School of Education, and the Bank Street Annual Fund. These contributions enable the College to continue offering innovative technology and resources for young learners, expanding financial aid and scholarship opportunities for graduate students, and strengthening its capacity to partner with more public schools and districts across the country.
To promote Giving Tuesday, DARO launched a digital campaign that energized the community and highlighted Bank Street’s enduring dedication to advancing education. A key feature of the campaign was a special matching gift challenge, generously funded by donors, which doubled all contributions up to $50,000. This matching opportunity served as a powerful motivator for community members to participate.
“Giving Tuesday is a wonderful opportunity to come together as a community and celebrate generosity,” said Marcela Hahn, Vice President, DARO. “The enthusiasm and support we witnessed this year truly reflect our shared values and commitment to high-quality education for all learners.”
“As a newer staff member at Bank Street, I feel deeply grateful to have had the opportunity to lead the Giving Tuesday email campaign and build excitement among our friends and supporters,” said Liya Yussubaliyeva, Annual Funds Coordinator, DARO. “I am truly inspired by the sense of community here and in awe of the incredible generosity that defines Bank Street.”
