Felice Wagman is a graduate of Rutgers University with a degree in Psychology and a certification in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. She taught kindergarten, first, and third grades in the Newark Public Schools for 11 years. While a teacher in Newark, Felice was mentored by Lesley Koplow, former director of Emotionally Responsive Practice at Bank Street College, and then began using ERP in her classroom. Felice offered transitional objects (teddy bears) as a means of comfort and an invitation to express feelings to her kindergarten students as one of the many ways in which she supported children’s emotional well being. As a psychoeducational specialist for Emotionally Responsive Practice for 17 years, Felice has shared her own classroom experiences and knowledge of child development with educators and families independent and public schools throughout New York City. Felice is currently working in school communities, facilitating parent and teacher support groups, on-site consultations, and professional development.
