Mitchel attended Fairleigh Dickenson University and then received his Master’s in Adolescent Education/Students with Disabilities from St. John’s University. During his graduate studies, he successfully taught Social Studies and College Preparatory at the high school level and also worked with middle school students and teachers. He was awarded the 2016 St. John’s University Students with Disabilities Award.
