Library Hours August 2023
The Library is open at reduced hours for the month of August (Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm). There are two Energy Conservation days (August 18, & 25), and Labor Day weekend (Monday, September 4) when the Library is closed. Normal hours resume Tuesday, September 5.

EBSCO Discovery Service: Projects
In the past if you wanted to save database articles to a folder it was quite a complicated affair. You would have to create an account inside EBSCO and then sign in to this “add-on” account to save items. Today, it’s a snap, all you have to do is add items to a project! We think Projects is a great way to collect resources, and keep them organized in one place.

The Library has upgraded to EBSCO’s new Discovery Service. It’s a lot less busy and it’s much easy to find, and save articles. Welcome to a more minimalist interface. You still get the same results but it’s a bit more easier on the eye.

Thanksgiving
Dear Bank Street Library Patrons, the Library will be closed on Thursday, November 24 and Friday, November 25, 2022 in observance of Thanksgiving. We re-open Monday, November 28, 2022.
BookFest is an event devoted to the celebration, discovery, and discussion of books for children and teens. This event, designed for adults, features luminaries from the children’s literature community. Authors, illustrators, editors, reviewers, and scholars will take part in panel discussions and breakout sessions.

Library Salon #28: A Conversation with Leonard S. Marcus on Censorship in Children’s Literature
What happens when freedom of expression and the freedom to read come under threat? At Bank Street’s upcoming Library Salon #28, we will hear from historian and critic Leonard S. Marcus, whose latest book, You Can’t Say That!, compiles the stories of thirteen authors of banned books and their experiences with censorship and free expression.
Please join Bank Street College, Teachers College, and Erikson Institute for a 90-minute special event “The Pandemic as a Portal to New Futures in Education.” It features educators and parents who contributed articles to Bank Street Occasional Paper Series #46.

How to WiFi Print From an iPhone and iPad
It is now possible to print using Bank Street’s WiFi network. You must be a graduate student and have a PaperCut account. If you are a parent or visitor ask for a print card at the circulation desk. Open the document you want to print on your mobile device. Look for a way to share your document, mostly it will be three small dots on the top right hand corner of your screen, or depending on the app it may be a small square box with an arrow pointing up.

WiFi Printing
If you want to print an assignment from your own device (i.e., laptop or mobile phone), it is now possible with WiFi printing. You only have to set up your device once. Here are the instructions for a MacOS laptop. Make sure you are connected to a Bank Street WiFi network.
