On December 4, alumni, faculty, and students gathered at the fourth Library Salon to meet Cecelia Traugh, Dean of the Graduate School of Education. After mingling with guests over wine and hors-d’oeuvres, Cecelia discussed her longtime interest in the ongoing development of teacher knowledge and shared insights about her use of the inquiry method throughout her career.

“The idea of inquiry has long roots for me and the descriptive inquiry method is influential in all of my work,” said Dean Traugh. “I start inquiry groups with the people I work with as a place to share our work with each other. People have the capacity to create knowledge, and inquiry allows us to generate knowledge out of our own experiences.”

Her talk was followed by a lively question and answer session with guests. Library Salons are a series of informal lectures held after hours on Friday evenings.
